I have posted this on my personal Facebook page and also my CrossHeirs Photography page, but I am going to do a blog post too!  One of my photos has been chosen to be published in the Capture My Chicago 2013 book that is coming out in December 2013.    Here is the email that I received today confirming this award...I love this email!

The last three years I have been really working to improve my photography and have even started to take on clients recently and have been completely enjoying myself.    With the help of my family and friends willing to sacrifice their family photos for me to learn and also my husband and father-in-law helping me take that next step (you know how).   I am truly blessed.

The night of my birthday I was sailing aboard the Mystic Blue for dinner (sponsored by my wonderful employer) and the weather had just cleared up after a horrible storm.      My husband and I were in the front of the boat and only 2-3 people were up there with us.  It was incredibly peaceful and the weather was perfect.     I had been reading up on how to take firework shots because I know this was a firework cruise and wanted to try and capture a great shot with downtown Chicago in the background.   I love the shot I was able to capture and shared it on the Capture My Chicago site.   Here is what I saw today, it was featured on their site as a look inside of the book.     I squeaked when I saw this...literally squeaked out loud.
