June 23 - SupermoonSunday, June 23rd was the appearance of the glorious Supermoon. It is slightly larger than the regular moon and quite spectacular at see. My brother's 40th birthday was the same day as the Supermoon appearance so he is convinced the universe was celebrating his birth.
I was scheduled to head out to Fullerton Beach to meet up with a photography group to capture the moon with downtown Chicago in the shot. Of course, the clouds started to roll-in and the meet up was cancelled. Determined to get a shot not clouded by homes and shopping malls, my husband and I took a short drive south of the city.
I waited for the moon to make it's appearance and it was bright yellowish orange as it started to rise. Quite a site in complete darkness to see this gorgeous moon make her appearance. If only the hundreds of fire flies would of shown up on this shot, would of been perfect!
