July 28 - PreparationMy Sunday morning was a nice quiet morning and I was able to help my mom prepare for her upcoming surgery. She is having a major lung surgery fairly soon so she needs to prepare her lungs for surgery. They want her to walk, breathing techniques and exercise her lungs to build up strength.
We chose to spend our mile-long walk around Lake Katherine on a nice cool Sunday morning. My mom, Sam and I went on a nice walk around the lake. I would have said relaxing, but we did have an almost three-year old with us who is not afraid of the lake or geese.
My mom did great and we got a mile in, just what the doctor ordered. She also got to visit Lake Katherine for the first time in her life and wants to go again this week! Preparation is a great excuse to spend some time with my mom and her grandkids. We all need a little more preparation in our lives.
