July 8 - Just Keep Swimming

July 08, 2013  •  1 Comment

My oldest two children grew up in an awesome swimming pool.   When I lived in another state I had an awesome 16' x 32' pool and my oldest two were in the pool almost from the moment they were born.   They are both great swimmers because we started young.

My youngest two do not have a pool and are not even fans of the water.  I decided last week to get one of those cheap pop up pools after my sitter confirmed my son is scared of the water.    This 30" popup pool will serve two purposes; first to show my husband how much fun the kids have and a little bit of work is worth it.   Second purpose is to teach my younger two children not to be afraid of the water and start to swim.

Beginning of last week I could barely get my five-year old in the water and have had to work with him to get him to walk on his knees.   We started with kicking his feet, floating on floats, using pennies and goggles to get him use to putting his face in the water and then this...

Now this may seem like no big deal to most people with pools and whose children have been swimming since they were born.   I have two older children who were the same way.   But for me, the fact that my five-year old is free falling into the pool with water covering his head is a great start to him overcoming his fear and learning how much fun it can be!    I am very proud of my little man!

I'm learning as I go and I hope that many others will enjoy my photography and learn with me!    I was inspired to pursue photography from capturing images of my children and family that people loved.    I have been taking pictures since I can remember.  I love photography and almost obsess about having beautiful pictures of my family and clients!    I feel that photography is so extremely expensive and I hope to be able to provide lasting memories for low costs.   Thank you for stopping by!
