May 15 - Driveway Flowers
I have a beautiful tree along our driveway and during the spring it blooms some gorgeous flowers! Tonight the sun is currently setting and there is a storm brewing which made for some gorgeous highlights coming through the tree. Before I started taking pictures I never knew how gorgeous the lighting was right before the sunsets...it makes for the best pictures. If the leaves would have been up and looking gorgeous this would have been a perfect picture, but I could not pass up sharing the sun highlights in the background.
May 12 - Mother's Day
I had a nice Mother's Day that started with making my older kids help clean our house before the company arrived in the afternoon. After the morning cleaning it was a rather relaxing day. We ordered some excellent food from a local restaurant and I had my mom, my niece and a couple of my brothers who came over for the afternoon. The best part of the day was the fact that I was forced to be in a photograph and it turned out rather nice!
My crazy niece and my husband with the obnoxious faces made the picture great! We really should do a family photo of as many siblings as we can gather together it would be a nice gift for my mom. The smiles here are genuine which makes it even better, we had a really nice time and lots of laughs. A perfect Mother's day topped with caramel salted brownies : )
May 11 - Cake
For Mother's Day my daughter made me a cake. She walked up to the store, purchased the ingredients and came home and made the gorgeous cake. I really appreciated her making something for me to make me feel special. I think that maybe she notices all the little things that I do for her because I love her and she wants me to feel loved.
Either way, I loved the cake it was delicious and I think it was one of the best pieces of cake I have ever had...sometimes things made with love are the best doesn't matter how it tastes.
May 9 - Pure Joy
This is a couple days late, but I have been very busy taking our little league photos of various divisions. My little guy was the lead-off batter at the T-Ball game and I was so happy I was able to capture his smile after his huge hit! My camera snapping has turned my children against smiling; Danny now goes out of his way not to smile.
Not tonight...
He was smiling the whole way, these shots made my day!
May 4 - New Lens
I have been saving for a while to purchase a professional grade zoom lens and have spent much time researching the Canon 70-200mm 2.8 USM lens. I could not wait to try this lens to see if it is as good as everyone claims...it is.
This lens is amazingly fast and the auto focus is indescribable as you can see from this photo of the local EPAA little league player. I was across the field even with the left fielder and shooting through a fence. I could not wait to see how many fps (frames per second) I was able to capture with this beast of a lens. I am very happy with the result. I look forward to the sports pictures (when I am not watching my 2 year-old at the same time), portraits, landscapes and just enjoying the lens.
