February 8 - 50mm Challenge
I am very excited as one of my favorite photos I have taken was the leader of a 50mm Challenge on Capture My Chicago that ended today!

This photo was the first in the leaderboard and I am hoping that it is chosen as the People's choice! I am very excited because this gorgeous subject is my niece. This photo shows how gorgeous she is naturally, no Photoshop necessary. I am thrilled the way the colors in the sky, her dress and the landscape turned out, it was the way I saw it in my mind.
Even if this photo is not chosen as the People's choice, it is my choice and seeing my niece beam when she saw it....that is priceless!

February 7 - New Avenue
I now travel everywhere with my camera. It is always in my purse no matter what because you never know when something strikes your photographic eye!
The closer I get to my job in Lemont it starts to become slightly more industrial looking. I go through some beautiful scenery along Route 83 before I hit the industrial part of my drive. I was about 5-10 minutes from my work, it was early and slightly dark out and I thought this scene looked kinda cool. The steam and the lights from the various towers at this plant made a great capture.
Bringing my camera makes the 45 minute drive a little more exciting. I am usually driving and singing, but now I am always on the lookout for something that I think would make a great photography. Before I snap my camera, I tried to make sure it is a worthy subject.
February 6 - Best Endings
Nothing better than having my children love to read! I think my little man sees his sister, brother and his Dad read constantly and wants to be like them. I pray he has the ability to learn to read early, have to keep working with him. I love how his little face is so interested in this book he received at his Preschool Christmas play.
After he is done reading, we walk to his bed and he climbs under the covers. I tuck him in like a bug in a rug, give him a kiss and he is so sweet he tells me he loves me more than all the toys and ice cream in the world. I could not ask for a better ending to my day.
I love him.
February 5 - Sleeping Boy (should Be Boys)
My two tiny men are up very early and you would think that my 5 year-old would be wide awake and the 2 year-old would be falling asleep by the end of the day.
Here is what normally happens in my house. I have to force the littlest man to go to bed and my 5 year-old falls asleep as soon as he stops moving.
My 2 year-old does not stop moving from the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed. It is shocking to me that he doesn't fall asleep first. Even tonight watching his favorite movie "Polar Express" you would think the music, a warm blanket and his brother passed out on the other couch would help him to feel tired...Nope!
Pray for me during the teenage years : )
February 4 - Planes
I love living near Midway airport for one reason, planes. Well, I guess the other perk is to be close for flights, but planes are an excellent photography subject. Here is a plane I was able to capture and the sky happened to be gorgeous which makes it a bonus!
One of my goals this year is to try and capture an awesome shot of a plane coming in nice and low at dusk. Until then, I have to enjoy these images where are full of color and a beautiful sky.
